The grant or funding program for innovation by local media has so far been running several times. There are two formats or models for providing these grant funds. The first is based on the proposed innovative programs, which was then selected and decided to be given a grant, and then to be implemented by the media.
In this first grant model, at least three local media have so far received grant funds in amounts tailored to their respective needs and ceilings. They are Indotnesia through the "Koperasi Petani Digital" program; then SukabumiUpdate through the Collaboration with Influencers; and DigitalMama through the Children's Podcast program.
To date, most of these programs have been running, some of which are even considered successful. The cooperation or collaboration program with influencers run by SukabumiUpdate, for example, has been quite successful in expanding the distribution of content and its media programs, as well as bringing in additional income.
The second model for providing grant funding is through thematic programs, as was held in 2022 through the theme of diversity. In this format, selected media received funding in the form of a fellowship for reporting according to the intended theme that was related to the diversity in Indonesia.
In the future, there will still be a number of grants prepared for local media or small-scale media, either based on program innovations they have, or following certain themes according to the need and availability of funds. Grants will mainly be provided specifically for members of this Local Media Community, but can also be available for other small-scale media that have not yet had join this community.
