WOMEN MEDIA STARTUP

Several local media that are members of the SMS program have a focus on women's issues, including DigitalMama, BincangPerempuan, and Kutub. Even though the big issue is the same, which is around the world of women, these three media have different segments and characters.

However, they consciously believe that collaboration can grow their audience and business aspects together. So, on several occasions they held collaborative online events with various themes. The impact is that the audiences of these three media are growing together while branding is also developing together.

DigitalMama, which is based in Bandung, is currently creating a Children's Podcast program. Realizing that its audience is young mothers, DigitalMama saw an opportunity to produce parenting content in a multiplatform format.

Meanwhile, Kutub which is also based in Bandung, realizes that its biggest audience is female students. So they bring women's issues to younger people. By inviting the female student community in West Java, they developed women's and diversity content for social media. Currently there are 30 young female content creators involved in this program.

Meanwhile, BincangPerempuan, which is based in Bengkulu, after identifying, found it very difficult to get advertisers on its media. So they decided that the source of revenue came from offline and online activities, which then led to strengthening the activities they carried out.

One other specific media for women is Dewiku.com, which is also a media within the Suara.com digital ecosystem. As stated by Dewiku's person in charge in the Woman Media Startup session at LMS 2023, they are currently working on refocusing and rebranding in order to accommodate changes and at the same time get closer to the target community of female readers.

The Women Media Startup program itself was then formally launched at the 2023 LMS learning session last October. There have been at least a dozen specific women's media in the startup category identified so far, which in the future will collaborate with each other and be involved in various sustainable programs.
